I recently completed my PhD in Physics from the University of British Columbia. My thesis focuses on how students experience a pendulum lab in the first year curriculum. I showed how students struggle with inconclusive results and confirmation bias and implemented an intervention to help students have better outcomes in the lab. During my PhD, I ran TA training workshops and helped redesign a computational physics course. I’ve taught first and second year physics labs, computational physics, and physics labs for engineers. I care deeply about teaching and hopes to make physics more approachable and equitable to all kinds of students.
